Welcome to my blog

Well hello there all ye readers. Welcome to my Korea blog! As I think about leaving, there's one thing I can't help but wonder...WHEN?! I have no ticket yet and am still waiting on my visa to be processed and all that. It's so exciting to think that I'm leaving soon. Yes, it's also pretty scary:-) I know it's crazy and ridiculous but that's kind of exactly who I am! The day I signed and sent my contract I was really nervous. The situation was finally real to me and I began to have second thoughts. Was this really what I wanted to do? I still had time to back out! I was mostly just thinking of all the terrible things that could happen since:
1. I'm going and living alone
2. I know no one in Gimhae City and pretty sure NOT that many people speak English
3. I am fully aware of all the things that could happen to me if this is some awful trafficking ring!!

But while I was considering all this there was a song stuck in my head that had been all day. Anyone know "Mighty To Save" by Hillsong? Well it's fantastic and the part I kept singing goes like this:

"So take me as You find me,
All my fears and failures,
Fill my life again.

I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in,
Now I surrender.

My Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation,He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave."

Why should I be scared or nervous when I follow a God who can move freaking mountains?! He's mighty to save in ANY situation. Once I realized that, I definitely felt a lot better and more confident in my decision. I've been excited about this opportunity for over a year now and finally it's really, seriously, for real about to happen! I love all adventures and this is truly a huge, awesome adventure of a lifetime.

So welcome to my blog where I will keep you updated about my life in Gimhae City! I can't wait to post pictures of my apartment and my classes. I couldn't decide on a name for the blog and wanted the title to be "My Name is Hello," but only avid Arrested Development watchers would get the joke:-) There's more I wanted to say but I'll save it for next time.

Thanks for reading!

~Erica Jane~
